🐾 Rosie

Black & White Border Collie

Health Tested | DNA Profiled

Rosie is our intuitive little shadow — intelligent, agile, and deeply bonded to her family.

🐶 Temperment

Rosie is small in size but big in presence. Agile, athletic, and incredibly intelligent, she thrives on both physical activity and emotional connection.

She loves a game of fetch and enjoys competing with Teddy. If she wins the ball, she’ll carry it most of the way before dropping it for him to deliver the final stretch.

Rosie has remarkable intuition. She senses when someone in our home isn’t well and will quietly stay beside them — laying across legs or hopping onto a lap during moments of overwhelm.

With our son, she is particularly grounding and calm.

Naturally protective of her humans, she is alert yet beautifully behaved in public settings. Whether at home or out at a café, she settles confidently.

Affectionate, perceptive, and just a little bossy, Rosie balances independence with deep loyalty.

🧬 Genetic Diversity

Rosie has completed Orivet’s Genetic Diversity (Heterozygosity) assessment.

Heterozygosity Score: 0.378 (37.8%)
Inbreeding Level: 37.80%

This places her above the typical breed range for Border Collies (21.9%–28.2%), reflecting strong genetic diversity within her lineage.

Genetic diversity is considered when planning pairings to support long-term health, resilience, and breed vitality.

Approved veterinary sample collection.

What Is Genetic Diversity?

Genetic diversity (heterozygosity) measures the variation within a dog’s DNA compared to others in the breed.

Higher heterozygosity generally indicates greater genetic variation, which can support overall resilience and long-term breed health.

While no single number determines breeding suitability, diversity is considered alongside health testing, temperament, structure, and pedigree when planning responsible pairings.
