Puppy Process
Bringing a puppy into your home is a special decision, and we take great care in placing our puppies with families who will love and value them as much as we do.
Our process is designed to ensure each puppy is matched with a home where they will thrive.

2. Application Review & Conversation
Once we receive your application, we will review your responses and contact suitable applicants to discuss the next steps.
We may ask additional questions to ensure the right match between puppy and family. Our goal is to place each puppy in the home where they will be happiest and best supported.

4. Puppy Matching
When puppies are around 4–5 weeks old, we begin carefully matching them with families.
We consider:
• temperament
• personality
• family lifestyle
• preferences where possible
Our priority is ensuring each puppy goes to the home where they will thrive.

6. Preparing for Your Puppy
Before your puppy goes home, they will receive:
• Veterinary health check
• First vaccinations
• Microchipping
• Worming treatments
• Early socialisation within our home
We will also provide guidance to help you prepare for your puppy’s arrival.
7. Puppy Collection
Puppies are typically ready to join their new families at 8 weeks of age.
At this time you will receive:
• veterinary records
• puppy care information
• ongoing breeder support
We are always happy to answer questions and support our puppy families.
1. Submit a Puppy Application
The first step is completing our puppy application form.
This helps us learn more about your home, lifestyle, and what you are looking for in a Border Collie companion. We carefully review each application to ensure our puppies are placed in suitable homes.
Submitting an application does not guarantee a puppy, but it allows us to begin the conversation.

3. Joining the Waitlist
Approved families may be invited to join our waiting list for current or upcoming litters.
Being on the waitlist means you will receive updates about the litter and be contacted when puppies are ready to be matched with families.

5. Reservation & Deposit
Once your puppy has been matched, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your puppy.
This confirms your commitment and allows us to prepare your puppy for their new home.

Our Commitment
At Scenic Collies, our puppies are raised with care, attention, and a deep love for the breed.
Our goal is to raise confident, well-adjusted Border Collies that become cherished members of their new families.
Are Border Collies the Right Breed for You?
Border Collies are intelligent, loyal, and deeply devoted to their families. They are wonderful companions, but they are also a breed that thrives when their mental and emotional needs are met.
Before welcoming a Border Collie puppy into your home, it is important to consider whether this breed suits your lifestyle.
Border Collies form strong bonds with their people and enjoy being involved in everyday family life. They do best in homes where they are included in activities and have regular opportunities for play, interaction, and mental stimulation.
While they are known for their energy and intelligence, every dog is an individual. The Border Collies in our program are selected for their calm, affectionate, and family-focused temperaments, making them wonderful companions for active households.
Border Collies can be an excellent choice for families who are looking for:
• an intelligent and trainable dog
• a loyal companion who enjoys being part of daily life
• a dog that thrives on connection with their people
• an adaptable companion for active families
However, like all dogs, they require time, commitment, and responsible ownership.
If you are unsure whether a Border Collie is the right fit for your family, we are always happy to discuss this with you and help guide you in making the best decision.
