🐾 Evie

Apricot & White Border Collie
Health Tested | DNA Profiled
Evie is a gentle, grounded member of our Scenic Collies family — affectionate, calm, and deeply loyal.
🐶 Tempermant
Evie is a very sweet girl who doesn’t need to be in your space but always wants to be in your presence. She is content simply being near her family.
She loves running alongside Teddy when he chases the ball, happily joining the game without needing to retrieve it herself.
Inside the home, she is beautifully calm and settled. She enjoys cuddles and gives the sweetest little kisses as she passes by.
Naturally protective and cautious, Evie confidently alerts to new visitors on our property and takes her role as guardian seriously.
She is wonderful with the children and bonds deeply with her people. Friends are often drawn to her steady, affectionate nature.
A larger female — similar in size to Teddy — she carries a confident and balanced presence.
When she had her first litter, she would gently carry her puppies out to the loungeroom if we left the bedroom, simply wanting to keep them close to the family — a small inconvenience, but a testament to her strong maternal instincts and connection.

🧬 Genetic Diversity
Evie has completed Orivet’s Genetic Diversity (Heterozygosity) assessment.
• Heterozygosity Score: 0.407 (40.7%)
• Inbreeding Level: 40.70%
This places her above the typical breed range for Border Collies (21.9%–28.2%), reflecting strong genetic diversity within her lineage.
Genetic diversity is considered when planning pairings to support long-term health, resilience, and breed vitality.
Approved veterinary sample collection.
What Is Genetic Diversity?
Genetic diversity (heterozygosity) measures the variation within a dog’s DNA compared to others in the breed.
Higher heterozygosity generally indicates greater genetic variation, which can support overall resilience and long-term breed health.
While no single number determines breeding suitability, diversity is considered alongside health testing, temperament, structure, and pedigree when planning responsible pairings.
