Bringing a Border Collie into your family is a special decision, and we believe the experience should be just as enjoyable as bringing your puppy home.
From your first enquiry through to pickup day (and beyond), we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
From the moment you join our waitlist until long after your puppy comes home, we’re here to guide and support you every step of the way. Here’s what your Scenic Collies journey looks like…
1. Join the Waitlist
The journey begins by completing our Puppy Application.
We use this to learn about your family, lifestyle and what you’re looking for in your future companion.
There is no cost or obligation to join our waitlist. If your plans change or you find a puppy elsewhere, that’s completely okay.
2. A Litter is Born!
The exciting part!
As soon as a litter arrives, everyone on the waitlist receives photos and information about the puppies.
3. Reserve Your Puppy
If a particular puppy captures your heart, you have the opportunity to place a $1,000 Reservation Deposit to reserve that puppy while you wait for the official Meet & Greet.
We understand that choosing a puppy from photos alone can be difficult, which is why your Reservation Deposit remains fully refundable until you’ve had the chance to meet the puppies in person (or via FaceTime for interstate families).
If you decide another available puppy is a better fit for your family, your Reservation Deposit can simply be transferred to that puppy. Likewise, if you decide this litter isn’t the right fit after meeting the puppies, your Reservation Deposit will be refunded in full.
We believe this process gives families confidence and flexibility while ensuring every puppy is thoughtfully matched with the right home.
4. Meet & Greet (Around 4 Weeks)
When the puppies are around four weeks old, we invite families to our Scenic Collies Meet & Greet.
You’ll be able to:
- Meet Mum and Dad
- Spend time cuddling the puppies
- Watch their personalities beginning to shine
- Ask as many questions as you’d like
- Find the puppy that’s the best fit for your family
Interstate families can enjoy the same experience via FaceTime.
5. Choosing Your Puppy
After meeting the litter, you have three options:
- Keep your original puppy reservation.
- Transfer your Reservation Deposit to another available puppy if you feel they’re a better match.
- Decide this litter isn’t the right fit, in which case your Reservation Deposit will be refunded in full.
We want every family to head home feeling completely confident they’ve chosen the right puppy.
6. Puppy Purchase Agreement
Once you’ve chosen your puppy, we’ll complete and sign your Puppy Purchase Agreement.
At this point:
- Your Reservation Deposit becomes non-refundable.
- Your puppy is officially reserved for your family.
- We begin preparing everything for their homecoming.
7. Weekly Puppy Visits
After the Meet & Greet, families are welcome to book a visit each week until pickup day.
These visits are one of our favourite parts of the process.
They allow you to watch your puppy grow, continue building your bond, and help your puppy become familiar with you before they leave for their new home.
8. Preparing for Home
Before going home, every Scenic Collies puppy receives:
- Veterinary health examination
- First vaccination
- Microchip
- Worming program
- Early neurological stimulation
- Age-appropriate socialisation
- Puppy Pack
- Six weeks complimentary pet insurance
You’ll also receive helpful information to make the transition as smooth as possible.
9. Final Payment
The remaining balance is due when your puppy is 7 weeks of age.
Once payment has been received, we’ll finalise all paperwork and prepare your puppy’s personalised Puppy Pack ready for collection.
10. Home Day!
Puppies head home from 8 weeks of age.
On pickup day you’ll receive:
- Veterinary records
- Microchip details
- Worming records
- Feeding information
- Insurance information
- Puppy Pack
- Lifetime breeder support

Bringing your puppy home isn’t the end of the journey—it’s just the beginning.
We are always here if you have questions, need advice, or simply want to share photos.
Once you welcome a Scenic Collies puppy into your home, you’ll always be part of our Scenic Collies family.

While they are known for their energy and intelligence, every dog is an individual. The Border Collies in our program are selected for their calm, affectionate, and family-focused temperaments, making them wonderful companions for active households.
Border Collies can be an excellent choice for families who are looking for:

However, like all dogs, they require time, commitment, and responsible ownership.
